____________________________________________________________________ NOTE : This file MUST exist because it is used as a place holder to find patch information files. If this file is not shipped with JIRA then no patch information will be able to be found. ____________________________________________________________________ This is the read me file to explain patch information works in JIRA. If a patch needs to be applied to JIRA then a file should be placed in WEB-INF/classes/patches that describes the patch. The file name should be .patch and the contents of the file should be a short sharp description of the patch. So for example imagine we had two patches applied, JRA-666 and JRA999. We would have the following files next to this one : WEB-INF/classes/patches/JRA-666.patch WEB-INF/classes/patches/JRA-999.patch And each file would contain a short description for the reason for the patch. This information can then be used in the logging and system info pages to show any applied patches. The patch-gen program will create these files for you automatically in the right place however you still need to edit the patch file for a better description of the patch.
